What age children are your play tins suitable for?
Children aged 4-9 love our play tins, but children are all different so some older and some younger ages may enjoy the activities too. For example, the Outdoor Adventures Play Tin has lots of ideas that could help families with younger children explore using their senses. Please contact us if you would like further information about specific play tins.
Do you sell play tins for individual children or for groups?
Our play tins are designed for individual children to play outside, with a little help sometimes from a grown-up. We aim to encourage independent exploration, but we also love to see adults getting stuck in too.
Our play packs are designed for groups of around 4-12 children making them perfect for parties and outdoor events.
The content of our play tins and play packs are different, with activities designed specifically for each theme.
Where do you get all the ideas for your products?
Inside our heads! We both have over 15 years experience in creating engaging events. As a Countryside Ranger, Katie organised and delivered thousands of fun family activities focusing upon the great outdoors. While Kathryn’s super creative and imaginative mind is jam packed full of new ideas.
We also have very particular Quality Control inspectors - our own children. They are constantly helping us work out the very best activities and games for other families to enjoy.
Combined we make an awesome pair with the result of some totally unique products designed for children.
I live near the beach and would like a play tin focusing on sea creatures and the coast. Will you be providing something suitable?
Yes! We aim to launch new play tins throughout the year - and a beach one is on our list. Sign up to our Newsletter to be notified of its launch date. We love to hear from our customers so please get in touch if you have any ideas or suggestions.
Why are your play tins different prices?
To be as fair as possible, we determine the price of each play tin according to the cost of the props and production. Some packs cost less to create than others and we pass this saving on to our customers.
Where’s the best place to use your play tins?
Outside! We aim to create activities that can be achieved in most outdoor spaces that have some greenery. This could be a garden, a local park, playing fields or woodlands. We hope to encourage families outside into their local natural neighbourhood - rather than needing to travel far.
Some of the activities in the play tins can be played inside too. So if you’re not so keen on heading out there’s still some ideas for you to have fun inside.
Can we play the activities in the play tin more than once?
We would love your child to play with our play tins lots of times. Many of the games and activities have been designed to encourage play multiple times. For example, our cards on the lanyards in the Minibeasts Play Tin and Outdoor Adventures Play Tin have been manufactured to be water resistant and durable. Plus, the imagination of children is endless and we are sure they will come up with lots of fun ideas to use the different items in the tin too.
Can you provide other activities as well as the play tins and packs?
There are so many things that we could provide and support. We are looking to expand into more curriculum-linked learning enrichment for schools. We have provided outdoor training for teachers and other practitioners. We have designed trail maps for estates wishing to encourage linger time and greater understanding of the wildlife at their site. We are always keen to hear about a new way we can develop nature-based outdoor play! Contact us if you are interested in having us design an activity specific to your needs.
How quickly will my order arrive?
Your order will arrive within 7 days of purchasing. We print to order and aim to dispatch item within 2 days of receiving your order. Our postal service takes 3-5 days for delivery. If you would like your goodies to arrive sooner please select the next day delivery option at check-out. Please note, we charge extra for next day delivery to cover the cost price of delivery charges.
Are your play tins accessible for all learning needs?
We aim to provide a wide range of nature-based activities by focusing upon different types of activities and learning styles within each play tin. You will know how best to adapt the tins to suit your child. We have consulted with a Specialist Leader for Special Needs and Disabilities to maximise the accessibility of our products, however if you require specific adjustments, please do contact us and we will endeavour to accommodate these.
I would like to run an outdoor birthday party for my child. Can you help me?
We have the perfect option for you! We create play packs suitable for 1.5-2 hours of outdoor fun for groups of children. Each play pack is themed and seasonal to make the most of the nature-based activity options. There’s instructions for the games, further information about the wildlife and all the props and equipment to play the games. Our play packs have been designed for groups of 4-12 children (but if you are keen to invite more guests please get in touch as we can accommodate this too).
This is a cost effective way of running a super fun outdoor party!
Can you help organise anything else for our birthday party?
We are looking into providing a one-stop-shop for all things related to your outdoor party including birthday invites, party bags, decorations, recipe ideas. Contact us if you are interested in any of these items.
